fashion lookbook: craving coral clutches

Need a summer wardrobe pick-me-up?
How about sporting a coral clutch.  If you're not ready or willing to go neon,
bright coral is a classic way to kick up an outfit's intensity.

1.  Medium Foldover + Chandra Clutch, Angel Jackson
2.  Large Toto Clutch, Carmen Woods
3.  Flamingo Feather Pouch, Anthropologie
4.  Lauren Merkin 'Louise' Jute Clutch, Nordstrom
5.  Jerome Dreyfus Leon Calfskin Flap Clutch, Saks Fifth Avenue

do-it-yourself deer doormat

I've been looking for a cool large doormat for our front door.
After not finding one I liked, it was time to make my own.
I chose a Whitetail deer, inspired by the ones we see regularly on our property.
Pretty simple. See the steps below.

Start with a basic coir mat.

Cut out a template of your design, pin it on the mat.
Spray 2 coats of exterior spray paint.

red, white + blue rooms

Patriotic colors can work for interiors without looking
country-cutesy or like an American flag.

Crisp navy with a single red throw looks fresh in this white based bedroom.

A red coral motif mixed with stripes in these
two rooms updates traditional red.
Different patterns of blue on a neutral backdrop
keeps it from getting too busy.

Navy walls look sharp with red and white contemporary furniture,
keeping this nursery fresh.
